James DeGale wants to return to the ring in December after recovering from the shoulder injury that forced him to miss out on the World Boxing Super Series. The super-middleweight edition of the eight-fighter competition began on Saturday when Callum Smith defeated Erik Skoglund, and DeGale’s rivals George Groves and Chris Eubank Jnr will also have their quarter-finals in the coming month. Bellator fighter post fight portraits

In MMA, there’s truth to the punchline: You should see the other guy. Deep in the heart of New York’s Madison Square Garden, Clay Patrick McBride captured portraits of each Bellator 180 contestant after matches in the iconic arena. The results are written on the fighters’ faces, euphoria and bitterness etched in every cut and bruise. An emphatic victory on the undercard by Irish featherweight James Gallagher earned a tweet from mentor Conor McGregor: “Atta boy Jimmy boy!! Bellator’s Aaron Pico prepares for second fight after disastrous debut

All things considered, Aaron Pico‘s first professional fight in June was one of the most disastrous first impressions this sport has ever seen. Journeyman Zach Freeman clipped Pico with a right uppercut and tapped him moments later with a guillotine choke. An MMA debut literally years in the making took less than half a minute to unravel. It’s no surprise the NFL has found a home in London, a city with a decade of regular-season games in its past and a full-time franchise potentially in its future. It’s also no surprise that the league found its way there in the first place, after a foundation had been laid by the developmental NFL Europe and years of preseason games starting with the Global Cup in 1983 and continuing with the American Bowl series. What is a surprise is that the league ever decided to return to England after…
